Call To Action

Suggestions To Enhance Your Call to Action:

It is important for a business not to assume that the marketing audience automatically knows what is expected of them. Ensuring the audience understands what it is you want from them will generate greater results from all your campaigns. With this in mind, a call to action can not be over done. Ensure each page of your website contains your call to action, each sales conversation ends with a call to action and every piece of printed material contains a clearly defined and easily identifiable call to action. For ideas, check out established businesses marketing materials and websites to see how they convey their call to action.
Calls to action work best when they’re not too complicated. Don’t give too many different action options, like “call our office to secure an appointment or go to our website”. When doing a printed piece or designing a website or email marketing campaign, it is suggested to differentiate the call to action by making it bigger, using a different color and outlining it with extra white space.

Here are some characteristics that will enhance your call to action:

  • It clearly explains how the customer should respond to the offer
  • It conveys clearly to the customer what he or she is going to receive
  • It communicates a major benefit of the product or service being offered.
  • It relays a deadline and explains why there is a good reason for the customer to act by the deadline.

Have a Tracking Plan in Place:

Consider what happens when a user responds positively or negatively to your call to action. The rest of the sales and fulfillment process should be as carefully planned out as the call to action. Each response, good or bad, should be documented in the prospect or sales lead’s record. What is the easiest way to do this? Consider using an inexpensive customer relationship management (CRM) Tool to assist in this process.
